THE mystery behind the stones that had been attacking the Manjengwa family under Chief Makumbe in Buhera since early May this year has been solved.

The exciting development came after the intervention of a self-styled prophetess from Nyenyedzi Nomwe Apostolic Sect, Madzimai Felistas Chabata, who recently conducted prayers and held a cleansing ceremony to solve the problem.

Mrs Lydia Manjengwa and her eight children had been pelted by mysterious stones, which were being hurled by invisible attackers for a long period of time forcing them at one point to desert their homestead.

Relentless efforts to find a solution to stop the attacks, which did not only inflict injuries on the family members but also left a trail of destruction to property, yielded nothing until Madzimai Felistas Chabata of Gaza Village in Buhera came to the fray.

This was after The Manica Post, sometime in July this year, carried a story chronicling how the Manjengwa family was “living in hell” on earth at the hands of the invisible attackers.

Madzimai Felistas Chabata claimed to have cleansed Manjengwa’s homestead, bringing the problem to an end.

“We have been staying with this problem since May 9 this year. Stones have been hurled at us and we sustained injuries as a result of the pelting. We were a laughing stock of this village since no one was prepared to shelter us out of fear of being pelted by the same stones.

“We sought help from various traditional healers but nothing changed. I think more than seven traditional healers attempted to help us. The stones used to track us everywhere we went and some mysterious voices would order us to return to our homestead in the event that we visited other people’s homes.

“This happened until I was told of Madzimai Felistas. I then decided to go and seek assistance from her,” Mrs Manjengwa said.

She said they were never attacked by the “hot stones” after Madzimai Felistas helped them.

Madzimai Felistas acknowledged helping the Manjengwa family after it had visited her shrine.

“They came to our shrine and tabled their problem. I never thought it was a big problem until I heard from other congregants that they had been staying with the problem for a long time. I did prayers for them. I never thought of sending it back to sender as some people would like to put it but all I did was to assist them and see them live a normal life,” she said.

Madzimai Felistas gave credit to God saying it was one way of proving to people that He heals.

The 40-year-old self-styled prophetess said she never visited the Manjengwa family’s homestead during the period she held prayers for them.

“I never intended to visit their homestead. I was not known to them until they came to our shrine. I took it upon myself to say God help me through your powers to assist them after hearing of their problem. I only went to their homestead to see the extent of damage that had been caused by the stones. It was out of curiosity only after hearing people talking of the problem they were facing,” she said.
