ZIFA Eastern Region Division One sides Masvingo United and Buffalo Junior will not be in action this week after last weekend’s incident, where a referee was head-butted, which resulted in their match being abandoned. Both teams were fined heavily by the Zifa Eastern Region administrators for bringing the game of football into disrepute and their reverse fixture will only be played next weekend.

Buffalo Junior were, however, awarded the three points and are now second on the log standings.
As hosts, they were fined for not providing adequate security at the venue while Yuna Yuna were found guilty of causing the abandonment of the match.
Eastern Region chief executive Tedious Machawira said tempers were still high for the two teams to meet again.

“We will have our season break next week before we begin the second round, so we saw it fit to have the game played during the break so we can be able to attend the match.

“Tempers are still high in both camps so letting the game continue this week can be a big mistake,” said Machawira
