Zambia’s incumbent President Edgar Lungu has been re-elected with more than 50% of the vote, the country’s electoral commission has announced.

President Lungu of the ruling Patriotic Front party garnered 1,860,877 votes (50,3 percent), while his closest challenger Hakainde Hichilema of the opposition United Party for National Development amassed 1,760,347 (47,8 percent).
