Belgravia Sports Club in Harare  will tonight play host to South African house music group, Uhuru currently riding high with their chart topper  “Y-Tjukutja”.
The group will be supported by a number of Zimbabwe’s favourite acts among them hip-hop outfit — MMT featuring rapper Tatea Da MC and Mariachi, Pee Kay, reggae sound house Judgment Yard, and hip-hop dancers High Definition.

Uhuru are expected to arrive early today ahead of their concert that is being brought to Harare courtesy of Divine Concert Sound.

Uhuru is a group under the Kalawa Jazmee record label, and is made up of four individuals, namely Maphorisa (Themba Sekowe), Mapiano (Nqobile Mahlangu), DJ Clap (Sihle Dlalisisa) and Xeli (Xelimpilo Simelane).

They are currently riding high with the song “Y-Tjukutja” from their latest album titled “Our Father”.

Uhuru has also produced three songs for Zimbabwean artiste Willom Tight (born Willbroad Muponda), who is now based in South Africa, off his forthcoming album “Manifesto”.

The group is responsible for many hits such as Mafikizolo’s “Khona” and “Happiness, DJ Zinhle’s “My Name Is”, Dr Malinga’s “Jika”, DJ Vetkuk vs Mahoota’s “Not Yet Uhuru” and “Via Orlando” among other remix hits.

A spokesperson for Divine Concert Sound said all was set for what appears to be the biggest house music night.

“Uhuru is one of the best groups at the moment and we are looking forward to a great show tonight.  ‘There are local acts who are going to showcase at the event and this is a must-attend gig,” the spokesperson said.
