THE Zimbabwe team left for Namibia yesterday for the Quadrangular Bowls Series at the Windhoek Bowling Club.  The team will get down to business this afternoon when they practice on the Namibian greens.
Other countries expected to feature at this tournament are South Africa, who are going to field their national senior and junior sides, and hosts Namibia.

Zimbabwe will be represented by some of the country’s top bowlers — Denis Streak, Tom Craven, Masters Champion Jono Evans and All-Clubs Champion of Champions Clive Robertson.

Streak, who is also the skipper for the Series, feels the event will be very competitive.

“I feel it is going to be a very tough competition. The three nations competition features some of the top teams in Africa but we are going to give our best shot,” said Streak.

Kerry Craven said she was impressed with how the team performed during their practice session at Alexandra Sports Club on Tuesday.

“It will be a very competitive and interesting tournament and we are very glad to go and we hope we will make our country proud,” said Craven.

“We have played against South Africa and Namibia before at Africa State bowls tournament, these teams are competitive and, hopefully, we will win.”
