A GRIEF-STRICKEN Gunners, with their minds on the tragic events in Kwekwe yesterday, plunge into their final World Navi Northern Region Division One tie against Bindura United at Chipadze.Chando Kupisa’s world was rocked yesterday after 11 people died in Kwekwe in a stampede after a church service hosted by Prophet Magaya, their chief financier.

Gunners coach Kudakwashe Masaraure will find it difficult to keep his men focussed on this big match.

Bindura coach John Wilo said they were going for a win.

“It’s a very important match considering the way we have been playing. We are playing well, we have managed to get 17 points out of 21 in the past seven games. I think it’s an achievement for us. We just want to finish the league in style. History repeats itself, we beat them in the first encounter at Lafarge and we are going to finish off by beating them on Saturday (today),” said Wilo.

Wilo said they will also be banking on their supporters.

“Playing at home is definitely a great advantage for us, they are coming to our hunting ground and our supporters will be there in their numbers to support the team. It’s good for me to finish the league in style,” added Wilo.

Gunners need a win and hope that Flame Lily fall at ZRP FC at Morris Depot today.

Flame Lily coach Nesbert Saruchera said they were ready to make one final leap.

“We are excited to go and win the last game to progress to the Premier League.  We have no injuries and the guys are ready. We want to win that game, the guys are waiting for that big day tomorrow (today) to make sure we win the game.

“We are not going to play for anything less. We know it’s going to be tough but we have done everything to make sure we win,” said Saruchera.
Saruchera said they were grateful to their sponsors BancEASY for supporting the team in their quest for success.

“To be where we are I think we need to thank our sponsor BancEASY. They have taken us this far and we are geared up for the game,” said Saruchera.
