Bethan finds Mr Right, wedding plans revealed

past with gospel musician Gorden Taurai Nzira aside and finally settle down with her “prince-charming” and love of her life, music producer Lyton Ngolomi.
To add to her joy, the “Ndinzverei” hitmaker says she is over the moon that Lyton (30) will be marrying her end of this month, as he has already set aside a significant amount of money for lobola.
“It’s true, we are getting married on the last Saturday of this month, and that alone means a lot to me. I am happy that God has blessed us and brought us this far in our love affair,’ said a jovial Bethan.
She showered superlatives on her spouse, whom she described as a warm-hearted and God-fearing person.
“To me he is like my best friend. He is an approachable, warm-hearted and God-fearing person.
“I am always by his side when the need arises that I help him with the studio work. I always try to make sure that he finishes whatever he starts with artistes in the studio, and I am happy to have such a man for a husband because our lines of business do not cross. Actually we are birds of a feather since we are both into music,” said the Mufakose-based diva.
She further revealed that wedding bells have been set for December.
“There are wedding plans later this year,” she said.
Similarly, Lyton – who recently opened his own studio Lyton Studios in Meyrick Park, which he co-owns with his future wife – affirmed that he was going to pay lobola for his flame end of this month.
“Tiri kunosiya mari kupera kwemwedzi uno (we are going to pay lobola end of this month.) The wedding date will then be announced later.
“We sat and discussed the marriage issue with my elder brothers Eliah and Brian and everything is in place including the cash and groceries and since she is a public figure we have tried our best to meet her family’s standards and demands,” said Lyton.
Lyton – who has been going out with Bethan for close to three years now – also said he was on cloud nine that they were going to be official husband and wife once the lobola has been paid.
He was also quick to dismiss rumours currently circulating that his lover was pregnant.
“We are both members of the Chitungwiza-based Alliance Church in Zimbabwe, which does not allow lovers to co-habit before marriage. We are very strong Christians, contrary to word that is doing the rounds that Bethan is pregnant.
“In fact, she has gained a lot of weight because I am taking good care of her, which has been misinterpreted to mean that she is pregnant,” Lyton said.
He added: “I really wanted to date someone who understands my line of work. Sometimes we (artistes and producers) sleep in the studio and it takes someone who really understands to accept that.
“One thing that I like about her is that she encourages me to finish artistes’ projects on time and gives me support all the time,” he said.
His brother, Eliah said he was fully behind his young brother’s marriage and said: “We are waiting for the big day. All the preparations and formalities have been done in terms of finance and also informing our in-laws.”
Born 26 years ago in a family of six, the Mufakose-bred diva first realised that she had a music talent at the age of 16 in the AFM church.
Meeting music producer McDonald Chidavaenzi opened up windows for her, leading to the recording of her debut album Ndinzverei, initially titled Aripo.
Her second album, Aripo, released in 2009, also did well especially with the title track as well as songs like Donhodzo, Ndichararama and Pfugama Unamate.
Meanwhile, Lyton has finished working on Bethan’s third and new album, Anesu Jesu to be released this week.
