Police in Masvingo Province have warned parents, guardians, school authorities and pupils to be wary of fraud through mobile phone transfers in exchange for cash when travelling back to school.

In an interview, Masvingo provincial police spokesperson Inspector Charity Mazula also advised pupils to use public service vehicles.

“Pupils are urged to use public service vehicles like buses and commuter omnibuses as they are safer than non-public service vehicles,” she said. School authorities, especially those with school buses, are urged to escort pupils back to school.” Insp Mazula urged parents and guardians to also escort their children to school for their safety.
