Members of the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS) have been urged to remain resolute, work hard and act in a way that does not put the institution into disrepute.

Mimosa executive director Mr Peter Chimboza said this during the ZPCS Harare Metropolitan Province end of year part held last Friday at Motor Action Sports Club.

“I am pleased to see the high level of dedication and oneness proved today by the contributions you made towards this social event despite the economic challenges we are currently facing as a nation,” said Mr Chimboza.

“Interaction amongst officers is the vital component in building teamwork and common purpose. I urge you to continue with the spirit of unity, dedication and professionalism which you have exhibited throughout the year.

“May I hasten to say that though you are working on limited financial base, this province managed to score some commendable achievements in areas of staff development in training, health, transport, agriculture, officer’s welfare and community relations to mention a few.”

Mr Chimboza said community relations had seen different organisations helping the institution improve the welfare of the inmates.
