Peace Ndlovu, popularly known as BaShupi has been selected to headline the inaugural Sadc Fashion week that has been slated for September 20 to 27 at Zim Gardens in Chisipite, among other venues.
One of the organisers, and regional cordinator Charlene Kunira said the charismatic entertainer will showcase his talent at the upcoming regional runway show.
“I can confirm that Ba Shupi is one of the main acts at the event although we have many others coming from. We can’t confirm any regional names at this point as we are still signing contacts,” she said.

Ba Shupi who seems to be popular at various corporate and modelling functions will have yet another opportunity to rub shoulders with regional acts as well as local green ambassador, Derek Mpofu.

Mpofu, who broke onto the scene with hit song “Chisikana Changu Zimbabwe” will also be part of the entertainers as organisers will address environmental issues during at the youth day celebrations on September 27.

Mean while, preparations for the event are at an advance with the organisers having completed their local auditions for both designers and models.
“The Botswana, South Africa, Namibia and Zambia auditions will be held in August although Chimika Mwanza from Zambia, Dennis Hendricks from Namibia, Lot Lorah from Botswana and Shingirai have been confirmed as the faces of Sadc Fashion Week. They are all representing their countries during the business segment of the fashion week, she said.

The show will be running under the theme: “Utilising Natural Resources while Creating Social and Economic Transformations within Southern Africa.”
The purpose of the pageant is to create dialogue with different businesses in fashion from textile suppliers, entrepreneurs to investors in fashion, culture business and tourism and the whole supply chain,” she said
