After years in the music business one of Zimbabwe’s success stories and award winning musician Audius Mtawarira is now using his expertise in uplifting upcoming musicians. Through his recording label, Blind Faith, Audius, as he is affectionately known has started signing in artistes, among them a promising musician called Charmaine “Sha-sha” Mapimbiro.

The Mutare-based singer will be unveiled tonight at Audius’s show that is scheduled to take place at old Mutual Alliance Francaise Theatre

“We are having a great set (tonight) with common classic songs that people know me for. We have a full live band and an awesome vibe. We are however excited about showcasing my label’s first signing Sha-sha,” he said.

Shasha will be the singer’s opening act from 8pm and all eyes are on her as she is supposed to rise to the occasion and warm the stage for the RnB star.

“Sha-sha sings mostly RnB and contemporary music with a truly international sound. I work with artistes whose sound is not only international but satisfies the local industry too. My label is not exclusive to my type of sound but will be a comfortable starting point,” he said.

He said he is interested in signing artistes that will assist in shaping a credible recording industry in Zimbabwe by being competitive abroad in both talent and quality of productions.

Meanwhile Audius has promised fireworks in tonight’s show. He is known to impress at most of his shows and he has said tonight’s gig will be extra special.

This is because he will be complimented by upcoming talent.

“I will be performing hits from my previous 4 albums including one or two new songs,” he said.

Audius is also expected to give an early Christmas present to fans in Mutare as he makes a rare appearance at the Golden Peacock Villa on December 24
