Different artists will converge at the Ripe Coffee Shop in Chinhoyi for the third edition of the city’s Arts Exhibition that will take place tomorrow. Organised by Hillrock Arts Foundation in partnership with The Ripe Fig Coffee shop, the exhibition will see sculptors, painters and potters drown from as far as Mvurwi, Chinhoyi, Banket, Harare, Karoi and Mhangura showcasing their work.

“We have invited different artists for this one of a kind opportunity to exhibit their artistry. So far 26 visual artistes, both upcoming and renowned, have confirmed participation.

“It is the third time we are holding such an event as we strive to exchange notes as well at the exhibition,” said Hillrock representative Raphael Jambo.
He said the event will be graced by fellow artists and buyers from Germany, Britain, Australia, the United States of America and South Africa, tanks to their partners from Ripe and Fig Coffee Shop.

Jambo said the local artiste had the chance to sell their work to the visitors as well as market themselves for opportunities to tour abroad.
“There are opportunities that will be availed to outstanding artists to travel abroad with their work.

“The rest can also learn a thing or two from the visiting artists. In that respect I urge students to take art seriously as it is a career that can sustain lives.
“Parents and teachers are supposed to support the youngsters that take up this route as they don’t know where they will end up one day, so their support is important,” he said.
