Producers of the “Fight Against Cancer” album have invited artistes from different backgrounds to participate in their upcoming video of the song that would be done in different local languages to expand their listnership.Musicians Pauline Gundidza, Alishias “Maskiri” Musimbe and Webster “Muzimba” Manjoro have released two singles and are now working on the videos.

Producer and project manager Tungamidzai Simango said they have already got the materials for the videos but they were looking for artistes who sing different languages.

“We are in a process to engage artistes who sing different languages to make it a national video and I think in two weeks’ time we will complete the project,” said Simango.

One of the artistes Mzimba said this was an awareness campaign that needs the commitment of many artistes.

“This is one way of giving back to the community and we are looking forward to do a video that will educate the nation,” said Mzimba.

Maskiri encouraged artistes from different parts of the country to come and work on the project to encourage the creation of a cancer-free generation.

“This needs unity as artists and for this video we must come together and work as a team raise awareness so that Zimbabwe becomes a cancer-free nation in the future,” he said.

The “Wenera” hit maker said they will continue working on the campaign.

“The campaign is ongoing and we are working on a number of projects concerning that,” he said.

Gundidza had this to say “Organisations, members of the public and artists must united to create awareness against cancer and we hope this campaign will spread to all parts of the country,”

Recently they engaged the Ministry of Health and Child Care and the Cancer Association of Zimbabwe with their project.

“Recently we managed to perform at a cancer workshop hosted by the Ministry of Health and Child Care and they have shown their commitment in working with us to take the awareness campaign ahead,” she added.

Maskiriri added that they have hopes of doing a follow-up project soon.
