Of late, ZBCTV has been spot on in giving live coverage of events. I have noted they have been everywhere giving their viewers updates.
Last week, they screened live a signing ceremony between ZBC Holdings and the Zimbabwe National Road Administration. And on Sunday, ZBCTV screened live the birthday celebrations of Archbishop Ezekiel Guti of Zaoga FIF which took place at Glamis Stadium. Like it or not, it was a lavish birthday celebration and like they say, when it comes to spending, money is not an issue for most celebrities. Yes, he is a man of God, but that doesn’t take away the fact that he is a celebrity.

At 90, Baba Guti is going strong and I could see the banners written with the words: “I am Strong now as I was taken from Joshua 14:11” and that summed up everything about the granddad of the gospel.

Some of us who couldn’t make it to the Harare Exhibition Park we followed the ceremony on our small screens.
What an event it turned out to be with guests and A-listers from across the divide as well as thousands of followers.

What thrilled was that the event was screened live for more than an hour which meant that the national broadcaster must have made a bit of money unless if it was for public responsibility. The point is it was worthwhile screening the event. For starters, who doesn’t know Zaoga FIF?

Going into his sermon, I enjoyed the fact that Baba Guti does not mince his words.
Firstly, he told the congregation that with God all things are possible. He gave examples of how he stopped rain from falling when he wanted to host a braai in Moscow.

Secondly, to those seeking to prosper he said prosperity was a gradual process and not an overnight thing. I am sure he had a lesson or two for those preachers who often speak about prosperity in church or treasure hunters who sought quick returns.

I could go on and on, but one thing that made me watch the event was that it was really an exciting programme where the Archbishop relived his moments when he started out and how he came to be where he is now. So inspirational you might say.
