CHICKEN Inn coach Joey Antipas wants his team to continue with their fine run when they meet defending champions Dynamos in a league match at Barbourfields tomorrow.
Antipas feels the Gamecocks welcome the Harare giants at the right time when their confidence was boosted following an impressive run of three wins in their last four games, which include a shock 1-0 win away to log leaders Hwange in their last outing.

“We picked up a good win on the road in our last match and that was very inspiring. We have been consistent in our last four games and we hope to continue with the run.

“We give Dynamos the respect as defending champions but this is a new ball game altogether. Everyone is looking forward to this game. We are very comfortable playing at Barbourfields. What we are looking for is consistency,” said Antipas.

The Gamecocks are currently lying seventh on the log standings but three points separate them with Dynamos who are third although they are tied on 22 points at the summit with How Mine and Hwange.

DeMbare will leave this morning with their tails up as they are coming from a crucial win over bitter rivals Highlanders.
“Everyone is quite aware of our mission. We have been talking about it after the Highlanders game and we stressed the need for consistency,” assistant coach Tichaona Diya said.

“I know it’s not going to be an easy game for us but we will fight to the end. We have reached the crucial stage in the championship and we cannot continue dropping points.”

Log leaders Hwange will be away to CAPS United at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday seeking to bounce back from the home defeat to Chicken Inn in their last game.

How Mine will also be away to beleaguered Triangle who are currently second from the bottom of the table following a poor run under Biggie Zuze.
Mid-table side FC Platinum will be back home at Mandava seeking to put their campaign back in the tracks when they host Bantu Rovers.

The platinum miners have drawn in their last three matches and the frustration should be creeping in as they find themselves in the bottom half of the table despite their exciting play.

However, their coach Lloyd Mutasa however, said they will not be tempted to underrate their opponents as only two points separate the teams on the log standings.
