LONDON. — No position is safe at Liverpool this summer as Jurgen Klopp looks to strengthen his squad, according to Reds legend Ian Rush. The German will go into the transfer market having already acquired the services of Schalke defender Joel Matip and midfielder Marko Grujic, who signed in January but was sent back on loan to Red Star Belgrade.

But Rush, speaking at the Cardiff leg of Carlsberg’s UEFA EURO 2016 trophy tour, is confident Klopp will not stop there in his bid to end Liverpool’s four-year drought without a trophy.

“I think he knows himself what he wants,” Rush told Express Sport.

“I think he’s done fantastic since he’s been here, but he’ll want to get his own players in. I think he’ll be looking at every position.

“It depends on what he’s got to spend. I think he’ll be looking at every position to try and make the squad stronger.”

The Welshman also believes Klopp will already know who he intends to sell in the summer, with the likes of Christian Benteke, Jordan Henderson and Joe Allen all linked with exits.

When asked on potential sales, Rush added: “Well, he wants his own players in.

“I’m sure there’ll be people coming and people going. He’s looked at them in training and I’m sure Klopp will know what he wants for next season.” — The Daily Express.
