understands there was a fight for control of the band between Nadine and Andy’s daughter Ammara, a claim which they both denied.
Dice Gamble, who is Nadine’s manager, said the singer left the group to pursue a solo career.
“The Storm was Andy Brown’s band. Nadine is now starting afresh with a new focus and we are developing her as a solo artiste,” he said.
Nadine was one of the backing vocalists for The Storm and at the time of Andy’s death in March last year, she temporarily took over the reins.
“Mic Inity has been good to me because he is helping me on my solo project and we have also done two tracks together,” said Nadine.
Born Mike Madamombe, Mic Inity confirmed that Nadine was now part of his Hotta Fyah Band.
“She is hardworking and is of value to the band. Our relationship is mutual,” he said.
However, a friend close to Nadine said her decision to join Mic Inity was motivated by the need to earn a living from music.
“She realised that she had to pay bills and the only way she would eke out a living was to get a job somewhere and she opted to join Mic Inity. It’s better to work for someone and get a few dollars,” the friend said.
The fate of the other band members was not clear as Mic Inity could only accommodate Nadine.
“At present I don’t know what happened to the rest of the band members but all I know is that Nadine is now with us,” the “Freedom” hitmaker  said.
Relations between Ammara and Nadine have been frosty since the death of Andy and during the Victors Awards held last year, Nadine                        was deliberately left out from the event while Andy’s former wife Chiwoniso Maraire and Queen Mash, the late Andy’s sister, were present.
