Gift “Case” Amuli of the Zvishavane Sounds was all smiles after he received a Toyota Hilux Raider from businessman Edious Mavedzenge  in Harare last Thursday.
Mavedzenge who has business interests in mining vowed to assist Amuli and keep the Zvishavane Sounds alive.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, Amuli’s manager Lilanda Hungwe, said the group had been rejuvenated since transport was one of their constraints.

“I’m from Mberengwa and so is Amuli. I was tasked by the community to ensure that Zvishavane Sounds does not die because we love their music and we believe Amuli is a talented artiste. So through the community we sought to assist Amuli and it so happened that Edious Mavedzenge who is from the area understood the plight of the group and he offered his Toyota Hilux Raider for use.

“Transport is one of the problem that affected the smooth running of the band and we hope Amuli will now be able to travel to the remotest parts of Zimbabwe to stage shows since this is an all terrain vehicle,” Hungwe said.

“I think those who thought I had given up on music should think again. This car serves to show that there are still people who have faith in my music and I will never let them down,” the lanky Amuli said.

The group had lined up shows for Easter starting in Mt Darwin, Chakari and Chivi where Amuli commands a huge following.
