ZIMBABWE”S representative at this year’s Junior Golf Orange Bowl Championship David Amm will go into today’s final round sitting at a distant 42nd position after he carded three over at the Biltmore Golf Course, Coral Cables in Florida, United States.

The Chapman based top amateur is the country’s sole representative at the annual tournament and is expected to emulate Kieran Vincent who finished in the top 10 in 2015. The last time a Zimbabwean golfer did well at the championships was in 1992 when golfing legend Lewis Muridzo won the event.

Vincent finished the prestigious event in a four-way tie with the Czech Republic’s Vitek Nova’k, Ivan Ramirez of Colombia and Dominican Republic’s Juan Guerra all on one-under-par 283.

But is not looking that good so far for Amm. Amm will be back home before new year and is expected to get a golf scholarship with a college in the United States. As the country’s leading amateur he managed to win several tournaments like the Champan Grandslam, Matebeleland Amatuer among several others. The event saw Dutch teenager Jerry Ji leading the pack at 13 –under after two rounds.

Ji chipped in for birdie on his opening hole and gained confidence as he got another birdie three holes later.
