All is set for the Winter Worship Choir Festival that will be held on Friday at Kingdom Life Church in the capital. The festival will feature several choral groups that include Spirit Praise, Africa Praise, Sweet Bees Praise, Victory Praise, UACI Choir, Flaming World Praise, Prophetic Embassy, Assemblies Choir and Victory Worship Team.Organiser of the festival who is also Spirit Praise director Learnmore Tavengwa said the event was meant to develop talent in the country.

“A lot of choral groups are doing well in the country but they are given little attention. By having such concerts we are trying to unpack them,” he said.

Tavengwa said it was good that the groups were in high spirit making it interesting.

“Every choir is ready for the big day and that will be an interesting event. We are looking forward to it,” he said.

Tavengwa believes several choral groups in the country deserve support and would take their music far.

“They need to be supported look what happened to choirs like Chitungwiza Harmony Singers and Zimpraise just to mention a few. We need to give them support,” he said.

Tavengwa also said they would take the show to market their two albums to the people.

“We will take this show as another chance to give people our songs. As a team we are ready to let people enjoy the word of God through the music,” said Tavengwa.

He said they are working on other several projects that will come with live performances.

“We are doing shows across the country and I am happy that other musicians are eager to work with us,” he said.

The group is currently riding high with songs “Makanaka”, “Anodaira” and the title track “Yatokwana Nguva”.

Their music appeals to all age groups as it is a fusion of sungura, jazz and rhumba.
