Star FM will this Friday host yet another dancehall show that is tipped to be one of the biggest this year at Show Ground’s Nelson Mandela Hall. Dubbed Star FM Dancehall Remedy, the gig is set to mark the popular station’s second anniversary since it hit the airwaves. Godfather Templeman, real name Simbarashe Maphosa, who is one of the organisers said the show had all the ingredients of a thriller.

“It will be a big party for the fans and they should brace themselves for lots of excitement. We have not heard of any other Zim dancehall show of this magnitude in the days leading to the New Year’s Eve and it is some what a send off into 2015. Star FM is all about setting the pace so this show will be like no other,” he said.

Forty-two artistes who are mostly the crème in the industry are billed to perform and these include Soul Jah Love, King Shady, Shinsoman, Tocky Vibes, Killer T, Lady Squanda, Ricky Fire, Freeman, Platinum Prince, Guspy Warrior and Lipsy.

The Star FM presenter also revealed stiff measures they have put in place to ensure sanity prevailed at the event.

This is against the back ground of a series of violence scenes that have rocked most dancehall events in recent weeks.

“No cage is going to be erected on stage because I believe we are people and not animals. We, however, have a zero tolerance stance on any acts of violence and 40 security guards and police staff will be on the lookout for culprits,” he said.

He said a police post will be set up on the day and anyone seen throwing missiles will be arrested and fined by the police on patrol.

He added that he was confident that fans would behave judging from the peace that prevailed at last weekend’s dancehall show.

“It is a positive sign that fans were obliging to the call for no violence at the shows. We urge fans to come in early to avoid inconveniences at the indoor event,” he said.

Meanwhile, a popular surprise artiste will also grace the event and perform at around midnight.

“All the artistes will perform for 10 minutes but the highlight of the going will be the performance of our surprise artiste, we will release the name of the surprise artiste on our Thursday night programme and I assure you people are going to love the person,” he said.
