All is set for the second edition of the annual “Marondera Music Awards” (MMA) with organisers promising fire works for this year’s awards ceremony. Scheduled for August 20 at the Marondera Hopefay Hotel the MMA seeks to promote musical talents within the Marondera town.“This year’s awards will be a day to remember and people should expect various artistes and DJs such as Jerry B, Leonard Mapfumo, Sunshine Family, Slim and Dj Smylie of the magetsi fame who will be our guest DJ,” said organiser Nyasha Zhuwawo.

Nominees have been released in the categories of Best Producer, Best Riddim, Best Dressed, Promising New Artiste, Best RNB artiste, Best Rapper, Best Cinematographer, Best Collaboration, Song of The Year, Best Dancehall Song, Outstanding Male Award, Best Album, Most Recognised Artiste, Best Gospel Artiste, Best Gospel Song, Best Dancehall Artiste, Best DJ, Best MC, Best Female and Best Vocalist.

The Marondera Music Awards ceremony were launched in 2015 in a bid to recognise talent within the Marondera community and this year the event will also feature different people and promoters such as the flamboyant business man Dr Philip Chiyangwa among others.
