The Albino Trust of Zimbabwe has organised trips to the Chimoio and Nyadzonia shrines in Mozambique to help acquaint its members with the history of the liberation struggle. The trust’s president Mr Bruce Nyoni said the visits, which will be made this month, are part of this year’s Heroes’ Day commemorations. “We want to teach our members to be patriotic and to remind them of the sacrifices that were made to liberate this country,” he said. “Freedom fighters died for the freedom we are enjoying today.

“It is through this trip that we expect a lot of people to understand where we came from and to appreciate the sacrifices that were made by our heroes.”

Mr Nyoni said several companies and organisations donated in cash and kind towards the trip.

“Several organisations have helped us to mobilise funds for the trip and we appeal to those willing to help us to continue do so,” he said.

Members of the trust are scheduled to depart for Mozambique next Friday.
