TECHNOLOGY company Afrosoft Holdings has completed a rebranding exercise involving introduction of a new corporate identity and redefining its core product lines. The new corporate identity and the new products were unveiled by chairman of e-Government Implementation Program and Deputy ChiefSecretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Ray Ndhlukula last Thursday.

Afrosoft said the new identity would articulate a new vibrant image of the company.

“The company’s services are largely driven by intellectual property of highly qualified software engineers who deploy their knowledge and expertise to their clients,” the company said.

The new product categories and services that Afrosoft is now providing, in addition to the old core products, include content aggregation, e-commerce applications and solutions, mobile technology and resource outsourcing.

The products and services have now been grouped into four main categories which are resource outsourcing, software (content development), transaction switching, value-added services and analytics.

Afrosoft is leveraging on the growth of mobile telephony in the country, which has seen penetration rates exceeding 104 percent. This development has also spurred the access to the internet whose adoption is above 40 percent.

“We have seen a lot of value-added services such as mobile money, e-learning solutions, mobile-based marketing and this has created employment opportunities as well as contribute immensely to the country’s national gross domestic product,” said Dr Ndhlukula.

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe recently reported that about $1 billion worth of transactions have gone through e-based platforms such as mobile and internet which is a formidable milestone. ICTs have played a pivotal role in bridging the digital divide not only in respect of information exchange but ensuring that all communities are financially included to become part of the mainstream economy.

“The Government of Zimbabwe is acutely cognisant of the indispensability of ICTs, and has continued to build on the first National ICT Policy Framework which was launched by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde R .G. Mugabe in 2007. The Government has ensured a regular review of this policy to ensure relevance in an otherwise fast changing sector,” said Dr Ndhlukula.

Afrosoft has over the last 14 years amassed extensive practical knowledge and experience in software development while concurrently building a formidable operating base and capacity in related project work.

The technology company has been a recipient of multiple awards locally and in the region.

Afrosoft has developed numerous applications and systems for different enterprises and statutory bodies as well as other solution providers who required specific solutions for their own customers.

“We have a myriad of relevant solutions which many companies, Government and non-government actors alike need to take advantage of as they create world-class outfits in an increasingly hypercompetitive environment,” said acting board chairman Mr Joe Mutizwa.
