JOHANNESBURG. — The South African Premier Soccer League Executive Committee (Exco) met yesterday in Johannesburg for its monthly meeting and a decision was taken to postpone all Absa Premiership and National First Division (NFD) fixtures scheduled for this weekend.
This was done following discussions between the League, title sponsors Absa, the broadcast partners and other relevant stakeholders regarding the extraordinary circumstances relating to the passing and funeral of the late Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain, Senzo Meyiwa.

Meyiwa will be buried at his hometown in Durban tomorrow morning. The funeral service will be held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

South Africa have also moved their African Nations Cup qualifier against Sudan from Nelspruit to Durban, the hometown of slain goalkeeper Meyiwa, in honour of the former national team captain.

The fixture on November 15, where victory will see South Africa qualify for the finals in Morocco in January, will now be played at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, which hosted seven matches during the 2010 World Cup. —AFP.
