ABOUT 38 prisoners graduated at Mutare Farm Prison yesterday after completing a one-year course in Biblical studies and Christian leadership conducted by Africa Multi-Nation for Christ College (AMFCC). Speaking at the graduation ceremony, AMFCC director Reverend Willie Musanjeya said the diploma was a step towards a smooth re-integration into society for the inmates.

“The objective of the AMFCC course is to equip this army of God and also to train the men and women to fulfil their calling and have an influence in the kingdom of God,” he said.

“It is truly unique and has a quality of its own. You will be remembered by two things in life — the problems you caused and those you solved. So, you can use this course training to open a new page. You can start again. The opportunity has been presented to you.”

AMFCC principal Mr Innocent Chatikobo said the main objective of the course was to help with rehabilitation of inmates and prepare them for re-integration. He said AMFCC, which is run by the Zaoga Forward in Faith Church, had been offering the diploma on a part-time basis to inmates since 2015 and more than 160 prisoners had graduated since then.
