For only US$3 fans can expect to dance the night away as they celebrate President Mugabe’s 91st birthday.

Promoter Patson Chimbodza, who has been tasked with putting up the show, said they opted to host the event at the City Sports Centre to avoid the wet weather.

“Last year we held the gig at Gwanzura Stadium but rains disturbed the show so we decided to have the show in a closed venue,” he said.

He said all artistes whose names appear on the posters had confirmed their participation.

“We were asked to identify artistes by officials from ZANU-PF and we are happy that they have all confirmed their participation on the event,” he said.

A lot is expected on the show as different artistes will be showcasing their talents as Zimbabwe celebrates the President’s birthday.

Tocky Vybes, who is basking in glory after scooping two awards at the National Arts Merit Awards held over the weekend, is set to belt out his songs such as “Mhai” and “Paakwira Akadzika” that have taken him to stardom.

On the other hand, the Chimbetu cousins Sulu and Tryson will be out to prove their prowess to fans.

Macheso will be meeting his mentor Nicholas Zakaria, who has released a new album “Rumbidzo” that is doing well on the local market.

Jah Prayzah who has set May 22 as the date for the release of his new album has promised a preview of his new songs at the event. Speaking through his manager, Filda Muchabaiwa, the musician said he was ready to give his best at the show.

“This event is important not only to us as artistes but as the nation as we will be celebrating President Mugabe’s birthday and for us we will be sampling new songs from our album that will be released in May,” she said.

Mathias Mhere and Leonard Zhakata are set to bless the event with their gospel vibes. Last year the event was held in Gwanzura and thousands of people attended the event. Senior Zanu Pf officials are expected to grace the event.
