Two teenagers drowned in a dam at Sodbury Farm in Inkomo while following a duck they had pelted with stones on Monday morning.

The bodies of the two (whose names were still being withheld) aged 18 and 19, were retrieved by the police.

Chief police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the incident.

“The incident occurred at around 10am (on Monday) when the two men aged 18 and 19 went to the dam on the farm where they pelted a duck.

“The duck flew to the centre of the dam and they followed it, resulting in one of them drowning,” she said.

The other teenager followed trying to rescue his colleague, but also drowned.
