SEVENTEEN horses have been shortlisted for the 2016 OK Grand Challenge according to the nominations received by Mashonaland Turf Club yesterday.

The prestigious grade two horse race will be staged at Borrowdale on June 4 with eight races lined up on the day.

The nominations have seen nine stables lining up their entries with the country’s leading trainer, Gokhan Terzi, bringing in four runners.

The Gorkhan Terzi stable have Castle Tankard champion Rock the Country, Super Trouper, Newton Power and Euraklion.

The Bridget Stidolph stable have thrown in Mathematician, who came second in the Castle Tankard, Print the Pounds, Lucky Sam, Flax and Duffi’s Call.

The grade two race has a $40 000 purse.
